For mounting on the rooftop. Cooling output 1.87 – 4 kW. Protection category IP 55 as standard. Particularly suitable for use in harsh environments. Flexible water connection options.

The roof-mounted Rittal air/water heat exchanger uses cooling water to remove heat from electrical enclosures while keeping the internal air circuit separate from the surrounding environment. Its roof-mounted design leaves the enclosure sides free for adjacent cabinets or other equipment.
This unit suits installations with an available cooling water supply, with model selection based on the enclosure’s heat load, water temperature and available roof space.

Air/Water Heat Exchangers for Wall or Roof Mounting
Air/water heat exchangers have a low weight and a relatively compact size in relation to their heat dissipation capacity. They can therefore be readily installed on vertical enclosure surfaces or on the enclosure roof.
Greater Operational Reliability and Longer Service Life
For cooling media of uncertain composition or well water, air/water heat exchangers are available with all water-carrying parts made from stainless steel 1.4571 (V4A). This virtually eliminates corrosion.
Your Benefits:
Multiple water connection options:
½″ hose connector
Rigid pipe connection with G ⅜″ male thread
Rigid pipe connection with G ⅜″ female thread (accessory)
Flexible mounting options
Integrated leak monitoring for operational reliability
Two control options: Basic and Comfort controllers
Energy-efficient Eco-Mode control
International approvals: UR, cUR, cULus FTTA and CSA
Versatile Mounting Options

Wall mounting
For installation on walls or any sufficiently large vertical surface.
Roof mounting
Particularly suitable for bayed enclosures where door-mounted units would obstruct access.
More effective cooling with targeted airflow
For roof-mounted units, the air duct system directs the air cooled by the heat exchanger precisely to the relevant components.

Basic controller
Displays the current internal enclosure temperature and all system messages.
Adjustable temperature setpoint: +20 °C to +55 °C.
Switching hysteresis: 5 K.
Potential-free alarm relay for high- and low-temperature warnings.
Condensate warning and leakage monitoring on roof-mounted versions only.

e-Comfort controller — additional features compared with the Basic controller
Adjustable switching hysteresis: 2 K to 10 K; factory setting: 5 K.
Two potential-free alarm relays with normally open contacts, to which system messages can be assigned.
Condensate warning and leakage monitoring on both wall-mounted and roof-mounted units.
Master/slave operation for up to 10 units.
Retrieval of all system messages using RiDiag diagnostic software.
Energy-efficient Eco Mode control.
Temperature control via the internal fan is possible, with the solenoid valve permanently open.
Start with the enclosure’s heat load and the required internal temperature. Compare the available models using their stated cooling performance at the relevant water and enclosure air temperatures.
Confirm the inlet water temperature, available flow, operating pressure and water quality. Match these conditions to the requirements in the selected model’s documentation.
Check the rated voltage and frequency against the site supply. Specify the complete Rittal article number when requesting a quotation or replacing an existing unit.
Check the unit dimensions, mounting cut-out, enclosure compatibility and clearance above the cabinet. Include pipe routing, service access and any condensate management requirements in the installation review.
Application example
Air/water heat exchangers connected in parallel, with chilled water supplied by a recirculating chiller. Overflow valves or a bypass control system must be integrated into either the chiller or the customer’s pipework.

Recirculating chiller
Air/water heat exchanger
Overflow valve — provides a bypass when the solenoid valves of the air/water heat exchangers are closed.
Model No. 3301.900/.910/.920
Balancing valve — regulates the water flow rate through the air/water heat exchangers.
Non-return valve (optional)
Solenoid valve (optional)
