The Rittal Comfort Panel is an aluminum operator enclosure designed for industrial HMI, machine control and operator-interface applications.
The slimline housing is manufactured from extruded aluminum sections, combining low weight and mechanical stability with effective passive heat dissipation.
Depending on the configuration, the Comfort Panel can be integrated with CP 60, CP 120 and CP 180 support arm systems using a Ø 130 mm or 120 × 65 mm support arm connection.
With IP 65 protection, flexible service access and all-round mounting channels for accessories, the Comfort Panel is suitable for machine builders, automation systems and industrial operator stations where the HMI needs to be positioned separately from the main electrical enclosure.

Why Choose the Comfort Panel?
Comfort Panel selection should start with the HMI and operator-interface layout, not simply the external enclosure dimensions. The HMI must fit within the usable front-panel area while leaving sufficient room for emergency stops, push buttons, selector switches, indicators and mounting hardware.
Installation depth is equally important. The space behind the HMI must accommodate connectors, cable bend radius, terminals and any additional electronic components. For this reason, the HMI drawing should be checked against the enclosure drawing before machining or ordering.
The support arm is then selected according to the complete operator-station configuration. CP 60, CP 120 and CP 180 should not be chosen solely according to enclosure size; total panel weight, arm length, number of joints and required movement also affect the final configuration.

CP Support Arm Compatibility
The Comfort Panel and CP support arm should be treated as one mechanical system.
Depending on the selected configuration, the Comfort Panel uses either a Ø 130 mm or 120 × 65 mm rectangular support arm connection. The correct interface must match the attachment, coupling and other support-arm components used in the project.
For an existing installation, the safest selection method is to identify the current support arm and connection components before replacing the operator enclosure. For a new installation, the enclosure, total installed weight, required arm reach and movement should be considered together before choosing CP 60, CP 120 or CP 180.

Approvals
The Comfort Panel can be configured for HMIs, touchscreens, push buttons, emergency stops, selector switches and other operator controls. Because these devices normally require front-panel machining, the component layout should be confirmed before production.
SUWI can review enclosure machining requirements according to the supplied DXF/DWG or dimensioned drawing. For HMI projects, the drawing should clearly identify the required cut-out dimensions, hole positions and reference edges.
Where IP 65 protection is required, the sealing method of the installed HMI and other panel-mounted devices must also be considered after machining.
Comfort Panel is primarily suited to applications where the operator interface needs to be positioned independently from the main electrical enclosure.
Provides a dedicated location for the HMI and machine controls close to the operator while the main electrical enclosure can be installed separately.
A support-arm configuration allows the operating panel to be positioned according to workstation layout, operator access and production-line requirements.
Keeps the operator interface accessible at the working position while the main electrical cabinet is located elsewhere in the automation cell.
For fixed wall-mounted controls or applications that do not require a support arm, an AX or another enclosure platform may be a more appropriate and economical solution.
Before requesting a quotation, confirm the required Comfort Panel article number where possible, together with the HMI model, front-panel requirement, installation depth and approximate installed weight.
For a complete support-arm configuration, also provide the required arm length and movement. If machining is required, include the HMI drawing or DXF/DWG file. For replacement projects, existing CP component article numbers or installation photos are useful for checking compatibility.
Providing these details allows the enclosure + support arm + accessories + machining to be checked as one configuration rather than quoting individual components separately.
