Rittal AX 1013000 is a 500 × 500 × 300 mm stainless steel compact enclosure with a 450 × 475 mm mounting plate. Unlike AX configurations that primarily add mounting width or height, this model provides additional enclosure depth for installations where component projection, connectors and cable routing require more space between the mounting plate and door. Its 500 × 500 mm format keeps the front-facing mounting area relatively compact while providing a deeper installation envelope.

AX Stainless Steel Model Comparison

AX 1013000 is worth considering when the 450 × 475 mm mounting area already fits the component layout, but the 210 mm depth of AX 1007000 leaves insufficient working space in front of the installed equipment. The additional 90 mm of enclosure depth can provide more room for projecting components, connectors and cable bends without increasing the wall area occupied by the enclosure. If all equipment and wiring can maintain suitable clearance within 210 mm depth, AX 1007000 avoids unnecessary enclosure projection. If the problem is instead an overcrowded mounting plate, moving to a wider or taller AX configuration is more useful than adding depth.

Before Ordering AX 1013000

1. Check installed depth, not component body depth alone

Do not compare the 300 mm enclosure depth only with the nominal depth of the device. Include terminals, plugs, cable glands, wiring ducts and conductor bending space that project beyond the component body when evaluating the required installation depth.

2. Identify what is actually causing the door-side clearance problem

A deeper enclosure is useful when connectors, cable loops or tall components extend toward the door. If the difficulty instead comes from components competing for mounting-plate width or height, the 300 mm depth will not solve the layout problem.

3. Consider door-mounted equipment together with plate-mounted components

Pushbuttons, displays, switches or other door-mounted equipment can extend inward when the door is closed. Check their rear projection against the tallest plate-mounted devices so the two installation zones do not interfere.

4. Use additional depth to improve cable bending space

Larger conductors and connectors may physically fit within a shallower enclosure but leave impractical bending or termination space. The additional depth can be useful where cables need a less constrained route between entry points, terminals and equipment.

5. Consider the greater projection from the mounting surface

AX 1013000 projects 300 mm from its installation surface rather than 210 mm. Check nearby walkways, machinery, doors and service access so that solving an internal depth problem does not create an external clearance problem.

AX 1013000 is supplied with the stainless steel enclosure and single door, a zinc-plated 450 × 475 mm mounting plate and a 3 mm double-bit locking arrangement. The door has a 130° opening angle and uses two cam locks.

A: Choose AX 1013000 when the 450 × 475 mm mounting area is already sufficient, but components, connectors or cable routing require more installation depth.
