Rittal AE 1034500 Wall-Mounted Enclosure

Rittal AE 1034500 (AE 1034.500) is a 300 × 400 × 210 mm sheet steel wall-mounted enclosure for compact electrical control and instrumentation assemblies. Its 400 mm height provides space for arranging terminals, relays and wiring ducts on the mounting plate. Check component projection and cable bends against the available internal clearance before choosing the 210 mm external depth. The RAL 7035 enclosure includes a hinged door, a 254 × 375 mm zinc-plated mounting plate, a bottom gland plate and a 3 mm double-bit cam lock. Rittal specifies IP66, NEMA 4 and IK08 for the enclosure. Electrical components, DIN rails, cable glands and wall mounting brackets are selected separately.

AE 1034500 Layout: Use the 254 × 375 mm Mounting Plate

Base the component layout on the 254 × 375 mm mounting plate, rather than the 300 × 400 mm outside dimensions. Use the plate height to plan component rows, terminal strips and space for incoming cables. The 254 mm width must accommodate the equipment and wiring ducts without blocking terminal access. The 210 mm external depth is not the usable component clearance; check the tallest component, wire bends and any door-mounted controls against the enclosure drawing. Select a wider or deeper AE size if the completed layout cannot be wired and serviced within these limits.

AE 1034500 Bottom Cable Entry: Plan Holes Before Machining

AE 1034500 includes one bottom gland plate. Lay out the required cable glands on this plate, allowing for gland spacing, cable diameter and the bend into terminals or wiring ducts. Cable glands are selected separately. Confirm the dimensions and fixing pattern before ordering a replacement plate. Confirm gland sizes, hole spacing, cable bend radius and sealing before machining. Deburr openings, remove metal swarf and protect exposed steel edges. Select glands and blanking plugs suitable for the required protection level.

Replacement Parts and Alternative Enclosure Sizes

For an enclosure replacement, confirm AE 1034500 or AE 1034.500 on the nameplate and check the 300 × 400 × 210 mm dimensions, wall fixings and existing cable openings. Send photos of the door, lock, gland plate and mounting arrangement. A similar enclosure width and height do not establish equivalent depth or accessory fit. The accessory cards show AE parts to review, rather than a preconfigured kit. Confirm gland plate dimensions, lock configuration, rail fixing positions and the available space for lighting. A 330 mm light must not be assumed to fit horizontally inside this 300 mm wide enclosure. Provide the original article number and part photos when ordering replacement hardware.
