Rittal SZ Ground Straps for AX, VX, KX & HD Enclosures

Rittal SZ ground straps provide ready-to-install grounding connections between enclosure parts. The series includes M6–M6, M6–M8 and M8–M8 ring-terminal connections, with model-specific lengths and conductor cross-sections.

Select the strap by the grounding points at both ends, the required conductor cross-section and the cable route. The listed application depends on the article number: options are available for AX, VX, KX and HD enclosures.

Enclosure Compatibility

• AX and VX — M8–M8 models: Rittal lists M8 grounding points on the door/cover, enclosure and mounting plate for AX. VX also includes M8 connection points on the side panel and gland plate.
• KX — SZ 2565050 and SZ 2565100: M6–M6 models, with M6 grounding points listed for the door/cover, enclosure and mounting plate.
• HD — SZ 2565110: M6–M8 model. The listed HD connection points are M6 on the door/cover and enclosure, and M8 on the mounting plate.

Selection and Installation

• Check both terminal sizes: identify the grounding stud at each end before choosing the article number.
• Confirm the cross-section: use the enclosure grounding documentation and project requirements to select the conductor size.
• Check the route: measure between the intended connection points and allow for door movement. Check clearance from hinges, sharp edges and cable ducts.
• Use the specified fixings: follow the enclosure instructions for contact surfaces, fastening hardware and tightening torque. Include the completed connection in the required protective bonding checks.

A: Check the actual connection points and cable route. The strap must match both grounding studs, the required conductor cross-section and the movement of the connected part.

A: Review the route with the door closed and fully open. Allow enough movement without pulling the terminals, trapping the lead or rubbing it against nearby parts. Confirm the length definition in the selected article drawing.

Q3: Should grounding screws and washers be ordered separately?
