Rittal VX 8618600 earthquake kit adds internal reinforcement to VX baying enclosure systems. This article is specified for an enclosure size of 800 × 2000 × 600 mm (W × H × D) and uses zinc-plated carbon steel components.
For an existing cabinet, check space for the reinforcement around the mounting plate, cable ducts and installed equipment. Confirm the earthquake base/plinth and comfort handle required for the proposed configuration.

Q1: Does this kit include the earthquake base/plinth and comfort handle?
A: The documented configuration uses these as separate articles. State whether the earthquake base/plinth and comfort handle should be included in your quotation.
Q2: Can the kit be added to an enclosure that is already populated?
A: Check the existing layout against the manual's disassembly and assembly drawings. Confirm that the fixing points remain accessible and identify which equipment or accessories must be removed for installation.
Q3: Can I use the same kit with another enclosure size or series?
A: Send the enclosure article number and layout for a compatibility check. A different size or series needs its own review of the reinforcement and applicable seismic documentation.
Q4: What if the equipment must continue operating during or after an earthquake?
A: Specify the required operating behavior and acceptance criteria. Rittal's white paper explains that functional verification may require testing with the actual installed equipment.
Send SUWI the enclosure article number, required quantity, equipment layout and installed mass. Include the seismic specification, delivery destination and any base/plinth or handle requirements.
