Rittal AX 1012000 is a 600 × 760 × 210 mm stainless steel compact enclosure with a 550 × 735 mm mounting plate. It retains the 550 mm mounting width of the 600 × 600 mm AX configuration while providing substantially more vertical working area. The taller format is useful where the panel layout needs separate equipment levels, terminal sections or dedicated upper and lower wiring zones without increasing enclosure depth.

AX 1012000 becomes useful when a 550 mm-wide layout already works, but the 575 mm mounting height of AX 1010000 would force terminal rows, wiring ducts and control equipment into the same working zones. The 735 mm mounting height gives more freedom to reserve dedicated areas for cable distribution, terminals and equipment that requires regular access. If the layout can already maintain practical separation and service clearance within 550 × 575 mm, AX 1010000 avoids unnecessary enclosure height. AX 1012000 is therefore most useful when the extra 160 mm of mounting height solves a specific layout or access problem rather than simply providing unused reserve space.
Before Ordering AX 1012000
1. Decide what the additional 160 mm of mounting height will be used for
AX 1012000 increases the mounting plate height from 575 mm in AX 1010000 to 735 mm while retaining the same 550 mm width. Define whether this additional height is needed for another equipment level, terminal section, wiring duct or service clearance before selecting the taller enclosure.
2. Reserve dedicated cable-distribution zones
A 735 mm-high mounting plate makes it easier to separate component installation from cable distribution. Consider reserving upper or lower areas for incoming conductors, terminal blocks or horizontal wiring ducts instead of using the entire plate for equipment.
3. Check access to components mounted high or low in the enclosure
The taller cabinet allows more equipment levels, but accessibility changes as components move toward the top and bottom of the mounting plate. Position devices requiring frequent adjustment, testing or replacement where they remain practical to reach after installation.
4. Do not fill the additional height simply because it is available
Adding another component row also increases wiring complexity and heat load. Maintain separation around power devices, terminals and wiring ducts, and check whether additional enclosure climate control is required as installed equipment increases.
5. Confirm that 210 mm depth still works
The enclosure becomes taller, not deeper. AX 1012000 remains 210 mm deep, so large drives, contactors, connectors, wiring ducts and door-mounted components must still be checked for projection and clearance. If component depth is the actual constraint, a deeper AX configuration may solve the problem more effectively.
Accessories for AX 1012000
Accessory selection for AX 1012000 should account for its 600 mm width, 760 mm height and 210 mm depth. Height-dependent rails, interior installation components and door accessories should be verified for the taller configuration, while width-dependent components must match the 600 mm format.
