Rittal AX 1015000 is a 400 × 500 × 210 mm stainless steel compact enclosure with a 350 × 475 mm mounting plate. Its rectangular format provides additional mounting width while retaining a moderate 500 mm enclosure height and 210 mm depth. The 350 mm mounting width can be useful where control devices, terminals and wiring ducts need clearer side-by-side separation, but moving to a substantially larger square enclosure would add unnecessary installation footprint.

AX Stainless Steel Model Comparison

AX 1015000 is a practical fit when 475 mm of mounting height is already sufficient for the planned component rows, but a 250 or 330 mm-wide mounting plate would make horizontal wiring ducts, terminal groups or adjacent devices too crowded. Its 350 mm mounting width provides additional working room without immediately moving to the 450 mm-wide mounting plate of AX 1007000. If the layout still requires devices to be compressed side by side or leaves too little access around terminal groups at 350 mm width, AX 1007000 provides the same 475 mm mounting height with an additional 100 mm of horizontal mounting area.

Before Ordering AX 1015000

1. Lay out the widest component row first

Instead of starting with total component count, identify the row containing the widest combination of devices, wiring ducts and required spacing. This quickly shows whether the 350 mm mounting width is sufficient or whether the layout will still be horizontally compressed.

2. Check whether 475 mm of mounting height is being used effectively

The mounting plate provides 475 mm of height. Determine whether the layout actually needs several component or terminal levels. If much of this vertical area remains unused while the layout is crowded horizontally, a differently proportioned AX model may be more efficient.

3. Keep terminal access separate from physical component fit

Components may physically fit within 350 × 475 mm while leaving poor access to terminal screws, plugs or removable modules. Check the working space required during commissioning and maintenance, particularly between adjacent component groups.

4. Plan wiring-duct intersections before fixing DIN-rail positions

Where horizontal and vertical wiring ducts meet, their intersections can consume more mounting area than expected. Reserve these routing zones before determining final DIN-rail lengths and component positions.

5. Check whether 210 mm depth remains suitable

AX 1015000 remains 210 mm deep. Its larger front-facing dimensions do not provide additional room for deep devices, rear connectors or door-side cable bends. If component projection is the actual constraint, increasing width or height will not solve it.
