AX 1019000 Stainless Steel Enclosure 1000 × 1200 × 300 mm

Rittal AX 1019000 is a 1000 × 1200 × 300 mm stainless steel enclosure with a 945 × 1175 mm mounting plate and two-door construction. Its large mounting area supports layouts where several major equipment groups, terminal sections and cable-distribution zones need to remain separated within one enclosure. Compared with the 1000 × 1000 mm AX configuration, the additional height is most useful when the existing 945 mm mounting width is already sufficient but the panel requires another vertical working zone rather than additional horizontal expansion.

AX Stainless Steel Model Comparison

AX 1019000 is useful when the 945 mm mounting width already allows power, control and terminal equipment to be separated horizontally, but the 975 mm mounting height of AX 1018000 would force cable distribution, terminal rows or service-intensive equipment into the same vertical zones. The additional 200 mm of mounting height is most valuable when it can create a dedicated terminal section, cable-distribution area or another equipment level without changing the established horizontal layout. If the complete system can already be organised with clear wiring routes and service access within 945 × 975 mm, AX 1018000 avoids the additional enclosure height and weight. If the problem is insufficient horizontal separation at 945 mm width, moving from AX 1018000 to AX 1019000 will not solve it—the layout needs a different enclosure format rather than more height.

Before Ordering AX 1019000

1. Identify exactly what needs the additional 200 mm of height

Do not select the 1200 mm-high enclosure simply as additional reserve capacity. Determine whether the extra mounting height will be used for another DIN-rail level, a dedicated terminal section, larger wiring ducts or separation between equipment and cable-distribution areas.

2. Keep terminal and cable-distribution areas out of equipment zones

With a 945 × 1175 mm mounting plate, the layout can accommodate dedicated areas that do not need to contain active equipment. Reserving part of the upper or lower mounting area for terminals and cable distribution can reduce wiring congestion through the main control sections.

3. Check vertical cable routes between functional sections

A taller enclosure can increase conductor travel between upper and lower equipment groups. Plan vertical wiring ducts before fixing DIN-rail positions so the additional height improves separation without creating unnecessarily long or crossed cable routes.

4. Plan around the two-door structure

AX 1019000 uses two doors. Door-mounted HMIs, switches, indicators and other operating devices should be allocated to the appropriate door and checked against the equipment behind them when the doors are closed. The center door division also needs to be considered when planning a large operator interface.

5. Account for the change in locking system

Do not carry the AX 1018000 locking configuration directly into an AX 1019000 accessory list. Handles, lock inserts and other door-related components should be checked against the 3-point locking system used on AX 1019000.

6. Evaluate the completed cabinet weight

AX 1019000 weighs 71.4 kg net before electrical equipment is installed.

The completed installation will also include the mounting plate equipment, wiring, cable ducts and any door-mounted devices. Wall loading, fixing hardware and handling equipment should therefore be selected for the completed assembly rather than the empty 71.4 kg enclosure alone.

Accessories for AX 1019000

Accessory selection for AX 1019000 should be checked against its 1000 × 1200 × 300 mm dimensions, two-door construction and 3-point locking system. Width- and height-dependent interior components must match the larger enclosure format, while rails and other depth-dependent parts should be verified for 300 mm depth. Door-mounted accessories, handles and locking components require particular attention because compatibility with another 1000 mm-wide AX enclosure does not automatically confirm compatibility with the AX 1019000 door and locking arrangement.

Q1: When should I choose AX 1019000 instead of AX 1018000?

A: Choose AX 1019000 when the 945 mm mounting width already works for the equipment layout, but the 975 mm mounting height of AX 1018000 does not provide enough vertical separation for equipment levels, terminal sections or cable distribution. AX 1019000 retains the same mounting width and increases mounting height to 1175 mm.

Q2: Will AX 1019000 solve a layout that is already crowded horizontally?
