Its 945 mm mounting width provides an additional 200 mm for arranging power, control and terminal sections side by side while retaining the same 1000 mm enclosure height. If the layout already remains clearly separated within 745 mm of mounting width, AX 1016000 avoids the additional cabinet width and retains a single-door IP66 configuration. If the 945 mm width solves the horizontal layout but 975 mm mounting height still leaves insufficient room for terminal sections, cable distribution or additional equipment levels, AX 1019000 extends the same mounting width to 1175 mm height.

Before Ordering AX 1018000

1. Check whether horizontal congestion is the actual problem

Start with the widest equipment zone rather than the total component count. If power devices, control equipment, terminals and wiring ducts cannot be arranged cleanly within the 745 mm mounting width of an 800 mm-wide enclosure, the 945 mm mounting plate of AX 1018000 may provide a more practical layout. If the problem is insufficient vertical levels, increasing width alone will not solve it.

2. Design the layout around the two-door structure

AX 1018000 has two doors. Door-mounted HMIs, switches, indicators and other operating devices should therefore be planned with the door split in mind. Do not assume that a door layout designed for an800 mm-wide single-door enclosure can simply be transferred to the wider cabinet.

3. Use the additional width to shorten wiring routes

The extra 200 mm of mounting width is most useful when it allows related devices to remain in the same functional zone. Arrange power, control and terminal sections so that conductors do not repeatedly cross the entire 945 mm mounting width simply because more space is available.

4. Check whether IP55 meets the installation requirement

This is one of the most important checks for1018000.

AX 1016000 is officially rated IP66 / NEMA 1, 3R, 4, 4X, 12, while AX 1018000 is IP55 / NEMA 1, 12.

Do not select AX 1018000 solely for its larger mounting area without checking the required enclosure protection. This two-door configuration is rated IP55, whereas some smaller single-door stainless steel AX configurations provide IP66 protection. Confirm that IP55 and the applicable NEMA/UL Type ratings meet the environmental requirements of the installation.

5. Consider door access and surrounding clearance

A two-door 1000 mm-wide enclosure changes the required service area in front of the cabinet. Check whether both doors can open sufficiently after installation and whether adjacent machinery, walls or structures interfere with access to equipment on either side.

6. Calculate final installed weight

The empty AX 1018000 already weighs 60.5 kg net.

Once the 945 × 975 mm mounting plate is populated with equipment, wiring and door-mounted devices, the completed assembly can become substantially heavier. Evaluate wall loading, fixing hardware and installation handling using the finished cabinet weight rather than the empty enclosure alone.
