The Rittal AX 1180000 is a high-protection, tall single-door carbon steel wall-mounted enclosure for control systems that need a broad uninterrupted door face and multiple equipment rows. Its 800 × 1,000 × 300 mm body provides a 745 × 975 mm mounting area with useful front-to-back clearance for devices, terminals and cable bends. IP66, NEMA/UL Type 1, 3R, 4 and 12, plus IK10 impact resistance, support demanding industrial locations.

When a Tall Single-Door Layout Also Needs IP66 Protection
AX 1180000 combines a 745 × 975 mm mounting panel with one full-height door, allowing several equipment levels behind an uninterrupted operating surface. The 300 mm depth provides clearance for projected components and wiring, while the IP66 and NEMA/UL Type 4 ratings distinguish this model where environmental protection is part of the selection requirement.
Choose AX 1181000 when the identical 745 × 975 mm panel needs 400 mm enclosure depth for deeper devices or larger cable bends. Choose AX 1090000 when 545 mm of panel width and 250 mm depth are sufficient for the same 975 mm panel height. Before machining AX 1180000, confirm the row schedule and deepest installed stack, select the hinge side, distribute door-mounted controls across the large single leaf, preserve both lock and sealing zones, and allocate incoming cables between the two size 5 base openings.

The standard configuration includes a 745 × 975 mm mounting panel, one interchangeable single door, two size 5 gland plates and two 3 mm double-bit cam locks. Divide the cable schedule between both base openings and confirm outside diameters and connector dimensions before selecting replacement plates.
AX 1180000 uses interior rails specified for 300 mm enclosure depth and replacement entry plates matching gland-plate size 5. Because the panel is both tall and wide, allocate the two base openings to separate vertical cable routes and keep those routes clear of lower-row terminals and door-control wiring.
