The Rittal AX 1181000 is an 800 × 1,000 × 400 mm single-door carbon steel enclosure for a tall, wide control layout that needs additional front-to-back room. Its 745 × 975 mm mounting panel provides the same equipment layout area as AX 1180000, while the extra 100 mm of external depth allows more room to plan for projecting devices, wiring and cable bends. The specified IP66, NEMA/UL Type 1, 3R, 4 and 12, and IK10 ratings support selection for demanding industrial environments.

When the 400 mm Depth Matters
AX 1181000 keeps the 745 × 975 mm panel and single-door arrangement of AX 1180000, but extends the enclosure depth from 300 to 400 mm. Consider this model when the tallest components, terminals, cable bends and door-mounted devices require more separation after assembly. The 400 mm figure is the external enclosure depth; check the manufacturer drawing and the actual installed stack before assuming a usable internal clearance.
Use AX 1180000 if the same panel layout fits within a 300 mm-deep body and the wall projection matters. If you need more mounting area, compare other AX sizes by panel dimensions as well as depth. Before drilling or cutting AX 1181000, confirm the two size 5 base-entry locations, cable routing to upper and lower equipment rows, hinge orientation, the sweep of the full-height door, both lock positions and the perimeter seal.

The standard configuration includes a 745 × 975 mm mounting panel, one interchangeable single door, two size 5 gland plates and two 3 mm double-bit cam locks. Divide the cable schedule between both base openings and confirm outside diameters and connector dimensions before selecting replacement plates.
For the 400 mm enclosure depth, select AX 2394400 interior-installation rails rather than the 300 mm version. The two size 5 base openings allow separate incoming-cable routes; confirm any replacement gland plate against the actual size 5 cutout and your cable schedule before ordering. Plan door stays and wall brackets around the weight and sweep of the 800 × 1,000 mm single door.
