1. Check whether the larger mounting area is actually required

AX 1007000 provides a 450 × 475 mm mounting plate. Use the planned component arrangement to determine whether the additional width and height are necessary rather than selecting the larger enclosure only for additional reserve space.

2. Plan component groups, not individual footprints only

The larger mounting plate allows more equipment to be arranged in separate functional areas. 3. Do not assume the larger enclosure provides more depth

AX 1007000 remains 210 mm deep. Components with greater installed depth, large connectors, wiring ducts or door-mounted equipment therefore require a separate depth and clearance check. Moving from a smaller AX enclosure to the 500 × 500 mm format does not solve a depth constraint.

4. Allow space for wiring distribution
