Rittal AX 1010000 is a 600 × 600 × 210 mm stainless steel compact enclosure with a 550 × 575 mm mounting plate. Its square format combines the 550 mm mounting width available in AX 1009000 with substantially more vertical mounting height, providing additional room for component separation, wiring ducts and multi-level equipment arrangements without increasing enclosure depth.

AX Stainless Steel Model Comparison

AX 1010000 is usually the better fit when the layout problem is mounting area rather than component depth. Its 600 × 600 mm format provides more room to separate control devices, terminals and wiring routes without moving to a 300 mm-deep enclosure. If a 500 × 500 mm layout already accommodates the equipment comfortably, AX 1007000 avoids unnecessary cabinet size. If the difficult part is accommodating deeper components, connectors or cable bends, compare AX 1013000 instead—the extra 90 mm of enclosure depth may be more useful than the additional front-facing area of AX 1010000.

Before Ordering AX 1010000

1. Check whether you actually need the 550 × 575 mm mounting area

Plan the component layout against the 550 × 575 mm mounting plate, rather than the 600 × 600 mm external enclosure dimensions. If the equipment, wiring ducts and terminals already fit comfortably within a smaller mounting area, moving to AX 1010000 may only add unused cabinet space.

2. Plan functional zones before placing components

Use the available width and height to separate major equipment groups before fixing individual components. Power devices, control equipment, terminals and communication components should have practical wiring routes between them rather than simply being distributed across the available plate area.

3. Leave room for wiring and service access

Do not use the additional mounting area only to increase component density. Allow space for wiring ducts, conductor bending, terminal access and removal of components that may require adjustment or replacement. A layout that fits physically can still be difficult to wire or maintain if these clearances are overlooked.

4. Check thermal load as component count increases

The larger mounting area may allow more heat-generating equipment to be installed, but this does not mean the enclosure can accommodate unlimited component density. Evaluate the combined heat dissipation of the installed equipment and determine whether ventilation or enclosure climate control is required for the application.

5. Confirm that 210 mm depth is sufficient

AX 1010000 provides more front-facing installation area while the enclosure depth remains 210 mm. Check the installed depth of larger devices together with connectors, wiring ducts, cable bending space and any door-mounted equipment. If depth rather than mounting area is the limiting factor, compare a 300 mm-deep AX configuration instead.
