Rittal KX 1557000 E-Box, Carbon Steel
The Rittal KX 1557000 is a 200 × 500 × 120 mm carbon steel E-Box for compact electrical control and connection installations. The narrow 200 mm enclosure width makes the KX 1557000 suitable for wall-mounted installations with limited horizontal space, while its 500 mm height provides more vertical room for the internal layout.
The KX 1557000 can be used as a wall-mounted electrical enclosure for local machine controls, electrical junction points and small industrial automation systems. The tall, narrow enclosure format is particularly useful where the installation requires additional vertical space but a wider machine control enclosure would be difficult to accommodate.

KX 1557000 provides a 175 × 485 mm mounting plate, so its main selection constraint is width rather than height. The long vertical area can accommodate successive equipment and terminal rows, but each row still has to fit within 175 mm together with wiring duct and the required separation around the devices.
Start with the widest part of the planned assembly rather than the total component count. If the layout fits within 175 mm and primarily needs more vertical space, the 500 mm enclosure height can be useful. If equipment needs to be grouped side by side, compare a 300 mm-wide KX size such as KX 1556000. If the same 200 mm width is sufficient and the full 485 mm mounting height is not required, compare the shorter KX 1554000.

Set the enclosure orientation and cable-entry direction before locating openings. On this tall, narrow housing, side openings must be checked against the limited 175 mm mounting width, while top or bottom entries must not occupy the first or last equipment row. Door openings must also be checked against the two lock positions and the current Rittal dimensional drawing. Show reference edges, center coordinates, dimensions and tolerances on the machining drawing.
For review, provide: KX 1557000, quantity, an approved drawing or CAD file, opening sizes and positions, tolerances and cable-entry direction. Confirm the final drawing before machining because the external 200 × 500 × 120 mm dimensions do not define usable internal clearance.
