The outlet filter is used in conjunction with the corresponding fan-and-filter unit to dissipate heat loss from enclosures, ventilate the enclosure and protect temperature-sensitive components. This is achieved through the direct infeed of ambient air, the temperature of which must be lower than the permissible internal temperature of the enclosure.

The Rittal SK 3240308 is a RAL 9005 black Blue e+ outlet filter for the SK 3240.7xx, 3240.9xx, 3241.7xx and 3241.9xx fan-and-filter families. Installed on an enclosure wall opposite a matching fan, it forms the filtered air outlet. Cooler ambient air enters through the powered fan while heated internal air exits through this grille, helping ventilate equipment inside the enclosure.

Choose SK 3240308 when the fan belongs to one of the specified Blue e+ SK 3240/3241 families and the outlet grille must be RAL 9005 black. It has a 255 × 255 mm face and fits a 224 × 224 mm mounting cut-out. Check both the grille finish and panel opening before replacing a light-grey version.
The opening louvred grille allows the supplied pleated filter to be reached for inspection and routine changes. Tool-free snap mounting supports installation in the prepared enclosure wall. Filter checks are especially relevant when dust could restrict the ventilation path.
Rittal specifies IP54 and NEMA Type 12 with a pleated filter. Its IP55 arrangement also uses an absorber mat; IP56 and NEMA Type 3/3R/4/4X require a suitable hose-proof hood with the filter. Check the finished enclosure arrangement and select the powered fan according to heat loss and ambient temperature.
