Rittal KX 1553000 is a compact 150 × 150 × 120 mm carbon steel E-Box for small control and connection assemblies where installation space is limited but additional enclosure depth is needed. Its 120 mm depth provides extra clearance for components, wiring and cable routing while maintaining a compact front footprint.
The KX 1553000 is suitable for small junction, terminal, relay and local control assemblies that fit within its 125 × 135 mm mounting plate. When selecting this model, check both the mounting area and component depth to make sure the enclosure has enough space for the planned layout and wiring.

Do You Need More Depth or More Mounting Area?
The 120 mm depth of KX 1553000 is useful when a small assembly includes components that project farther from the mounting plate or needs additional room behind the wiring. The mounting plate itself is only 125 × 135 mm, so this model is better suited to a small number of deeper components than to a large number of devices arranged side by side.
If the equipment fits within this mounting area but needs more clearance toward the door, KX 1553000 is worth considering. If the layout is already crowded across the mounting plate, increasing enclosure width or height is the more relevant change.

Start with the 125 × 135 mm mounting plate rather than the external enclosure dimensions. Arrange the terminals, relays or other devices on this area first and leave enough room for wiring between them.
Next, check how far the installed components, terminals and conductors project toward the door. This is where the 120 mm enclosure depth becomes relevant. Cable-entry positions also need to be considered at this stage, since an opening or gland can interfere with equipment inside a small 150 × 150 mm housing.

Set the enclosure orientation before locating cable entries or other openings. The extra housing depth does not create more space on the 150 × 150 mm faces, so each opening must be checked against the mounting plate, installed equipment and current Rittal dimensional drawing. Show reference edges, center coordinates, dimensions and tolerances on the machining drawing.
For review, provide: KX 1553000, quantity, an approved drawing or CAD file, opening sizes and positions, tolerances and cable-entry direction. Confirm the final drawing before machining because the external 150 × 150 × 120 mm dimensions do not define usable internal clearance.
